Hypnosis in Childbirth

Birth has the potential to be one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. Childbirth is a natural physiological process that a woman’s body is fully equipped for. Each birth is unique and Easibirthing is about empowering you to manage your individual experience, not fear it.

We train you to use self-hypnosis, relaxation, visualisation and breathing methods to prepare mind and body for a natural birth. We teach you to use hypnosis for pain management skills and aim to build your trust in your body so you enter labour feeling calm, confident and in control.

This is about reaching a state of deep relaxation, maintaining perception of control over the process and developing a positive attitude. It is about changing your expectation of birth so that you help rather than hinder the natural process.

Easibirthing is a UK based model which was developed in conjunction with midwives and therefore complements UK birthing practices. Easibirthing receives NHS funding in parts of the country due to the evidence-base of this tried and tested model.

The Easibirthing method seeks to enable you to have the active birth you want. So whether you are planning a home birth or birthing hospital, this training is designed to suit you.

Costs

Confident Birthing Workshops

Run on a monthly basis to introduce women, preferably with their birthing partner, to relaxation and breathing techniques designed for use in labour and also as life skills for parenthood. This introductory course costs £10 per couple and is usually run in the evenings 7.30 - 9.00 pm

Advanced Birthing Workshops

Designed and run as ‘follow on’ courses to the Confident Birthing Workshop and comprise two sessions for £70 individual or £90 per couple. Usually run for groups of 3-5 couples.

One to One Training Sessions

You may prefer training on a one to one basis. For the entire one to one training Easibirthing recommend 4-5 sessions. If you are only able to attend less I would tailor the content accordingly to ensure maximum benefit. Each session costs £55 for 1 hour duration. A variety of times are available to mutually suit.
